With only four board members, I must again ask for your assistance. To borrow from President John F. Kennedy, " ask not what your neighborhood can do for you, ask what you can do for your neighborhood." What you can do is this. We need board members, we need volunteers, and we need your participation. Please call the Message Center at 441-7462 or send email to rgnaweb@hotmail.com to volunteer at the August events, as a Board Member, or for any questions or concerns you have.
Your participation is particularly important in regards to City of San Jose programs. If change is what you want, we need your help to make it happen. To help the City understand the scope of a problem, it is important our residents take the time to report the problem to the City. In the case of excessive business parking on residential streets, Code Enforcement requires multiple complaints. In regards to the construction on Sonora and the pedestrian access to Technology Drive, again call Code Enforcement. When those jets disturb you during the 11:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. curfew, call and report it to the Airport Noise Hotline. When stray, sick or problem animals need attention, call the City's Animal Services Dept. If you see graffiti on your property or a neighbors, contact the Graffiti Hotline for supplies and help to clean it up.
We have reported the problem of cockroaches leaving the storm drains as a result of the City's sewer upgrade project. Since Santa Clara County Vector Control has closed their Oriental Cockroach Spray program, we are asking the City to spray the storm drains and manholes. If cockroaches are a problem near your home please give the Transportation Department a call and request they spray.
Thank you,
Stephen Gates, President RGNA (email: rgna_pres@hotmail.com
